Anyway Aegean Miles+Bonus is one of the easiest way to get Star Alliance Gold and they offer directy flights between Athen and Luxembourg.
To achieve Gold, you must first achieve Silver. The miles earned for Silver do not count for Gold.
How to get Gold status:
– reach Silver: 12000 tier miles AND 2 with Aegean or Olympic Air flights OR 24000 tier miles
– reach Gold: additionally you need to flight for extra 24000 tier miles AND 4 flights with Aegean or Olympic Air flights OR 48000 tier miles
To retain Gold:
– you need 12000 tier miles AND 4 flights with Aegean or Olympic Air
– you need 24000 tier miles
